Ospica documentation

Identities, secrets, local data, and continuity.

Security and backups

Ospica processes MECM analysis data locally. The packaged service listens only on 127.0.0.1:5287. SQLite, logs, and persistent data live in the application’s local data directory.

Grant the Windows or SQL service identity only the read permissions it needs. A SQL password entered in Settings is protected with Windows DPAPI on the machine. Protect local administrator access and database backups as well.

Include %ProgramData%\Lijane\Ospica in a backup plan after identifying active files. Test restoration in a lab before a major change. Uninstallation retains data; permanent removal is a separate decision.

The license file contains an installation ID and customer information. Its signing private key stays on the licensing server. Exported reports can include internal object names, so review them before sharing.
