Connect to MECM
Ospica reads the configured sources needed by the SCCM / MECM modules. Prepare the SQL Server name, reporting database, and access to SMS Provider before the first assessment.
SQL authentication
- Windows service identity: no SQL password is stored. Grant read access to the account actually running the service.
- Dedicated SQL account: enter a read-only account in Settings. Its password is protected locally with Windows DPAPI and is never returned by the API.
Do not grant SQL administration privileges merely to run health checks. First verify database access from the selected service identity. In a multiple-site environment, check your configured scope and each module’s result before drawing a hierarchy-wide conclusion.
If a connection fails, verify the server and database names, network access, the effective OspicaService identity, and SQL permissions. A module can fail independently: read its execution state and error before interpreting a score.
